Dmitri V. Baranov, MD, PhD, FACS
Dr. Baranov was recruited from one of the nation’s top-ranked bariatric surgery programs. He has completed hundreds of successful bariatric procedures. Dr. Baranov has a medical degree from Saratov State Medical University and a PhD from Russian State Medical University in Moscow. He completed a general surgery residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York and a fellowship in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery at Boston University Medical Center. Dr. Baranov is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Randall Mark Kimball II, MD
Dr. Kimball is fellowship-trained in advanced laparoscopic surgery, including bariatric and minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Kimball earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College and completed his surgical residency at Abington Memorial Hospital in Pennsylvania. There, he served as administrative chief resident and twice was recognized with awards for excellence in patient safety.
Rachel Tierney, PA-C
Rachel Tierney is a certified physician assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She completed her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, MA. Rachel is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). Rachel assists Dr. Baranov in the operating room and sees patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting. She has been in the field of bariatric surgery since 2010.
Terry Bedard, MS, RN
As Bariatric Program Coordinator, Terry is instrumental in developing and delivering our comprehensive bariatric program. She draws on more than 20 years of surgical and physician practice management experience to ensure that--from both clinical and customer service perspectives--our bariatric patients receive exceptional care. In keeping with her overriding commitment to quality, Terry continually develops best practices for our patients and seeks new ways to further collaboration, communication, and patient satisfaction.
Erica Meyers-Standley, PA
Erica Meyers-Standley is a certified physician assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She completed her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She has 8 years of surgical experience. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband and two children. Erica is a member of the American Society for American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). Erica assists Dr. Baranov in the operating room and sees patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
Karen Zanni, FNP, PhD
Karen Zanni is a board certified nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She completed her Masters in Nursing Studies at the Sage Graduate College in Albany, NY and PhD at Binghamton University in New York. She has 3 years of endocrine experience, working with diabetes and obesity patients. Karen is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Karen assists Dr. Baranov in the operating room and sees patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
Jim Meyer, BS, CBRN
Jim is a registered nurse navigator and certified bariatric nurse. His special interest in weight management and bariatric surgery is fueled, in part, by personal experience. As our program Nurse Navigator, Jim will guide you through the entire process, from pre-operative planning and education to surgery and post-operative and ongoing follow-up care. Jim will help you obtain referrals, coordinate tests and medical appointments, and answer any questions you may have.
Crystal Krazit, LPN
Crystal is a Licensed Practical Nurse. Crystal provides the support and assistance you need in preparation for surgery and during your follow up care. She helps you obtain referrals, coordinates testing, appointments and insurance authorizations. Crystal finds that witnessing the transformation of weight-loss patient makes her job particularly rewarding.
Karann Durr, RD, CDN
During her 15 years in the field of nutrition, Karann has seen firsthand how people can transform their lives by changing their eating habits. She works hand-in-hand with her patients to help them adopt healthier lifestyles and reduce their potential health risks. Karann is a registered dietitian and a New York State-certified dietitian-nutritionist. She has a bachelor's degree in nutrition from Russell Sage College and a Dietetic Internship Certificate of Advanced Study from Syracuse University. She also holds a Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Cindy Donald, Referral Specialist
Cindy is our referral specialist and Bariatric patient advocate. She manages patients on the bariatric pathway from initial visit to surgery. A recent bariatric patient herself, Cindy is an outstanding patient guide, assisting and motivating our bariatric patients every step of the way.
Amber Towers, Lead Patient Access Specialist
Amber is our Lead Patient Access Specialist. Amber is a patient liaison and your primary point of contact with our office. She will get you started on your weight loss journey and schedule you in one of our Bariatric Weight-Loss Seminars. Amber verifies insurance and schedules new patients.
Rhonda Bonacci, Patient Access Specialist
Rhonda is your office contact for appointments and information. She will answer any questions you have and start you on your weight loss journey.
