Dmitri V. Baranov, MD, PhD, FACS
Dr. Baranov was recruited from one of the nation’s top-ranked bariatric surgery programs. He has completed hundreds of successful bariatric procedures. Dr. Baranov has a medical degree from Saratov State Medical University and a PhD from Russian State Medical University in Moscow. He completed a general surgery residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York and a fellowship in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery at Boston University Medical Center. Dr. Baranov is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Randall Mark Kimball II, MD
Dr. Kimball is fellowship-trained in advanced laparoscopic surgery, including bariatric and minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Kimball earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College and completed his surgical residency at Abington Memorial Hospital in Pennsylvania. There, he served as administrative chief resident and twice was recognized with awards for excellence in patient safety.
Rachel Tierney, PA-C
Rachel Tierney is a certified physician assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She completed her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, MA. Rachel is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). Rachel assists Dr. Baranov in the operating room and sees patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting. She has been in the field of bariatric surgery since 2010.
Andrea DeDona, PA-C
Andrea grew up outside of Syracuse and graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a bachelor of science in biology. She received her Physician Assistant Certification in 2000 from Anne Arundel Allied Health PA Program in Maryland. She is NCCPA Board certified. Andrea assists Dr. Baranov in the operating room and has more than 18 years of surgical experience. She follows our patients in the office and in the hospital. When not working, Andrea enjoys reading, hiking, running and traveling with her family.
Alycia Short, PA-C
Alycia received her bachelor of science from Clarkson University in Potsdam in 2015. She received her Master of Science in Physician Studies in 2018 from SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse. She recently worked at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg, NY. Alycia is a member of the AAPA and NYSSPA. Alycia assists Dr. Baranov in the operating room and sees patients in the office.
Erica Meyers, PA-C
Erica is a certified physician assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). In 2010, she completed her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at Marywood University. She has over 10 years of clinical experience. She states that one of the highlights of her job at Saratoga Bariatric Surgery and Weight Loss Center is having the opportunity to offer compassion and support to patients as they take steps towards a healthier life. Outside of work, Erica enjoys spending time with her two children, knitting, biking, rock climbing, and snowboarding.

Terry Bedard, MS, RN
As Bariatric Program Coordinator, Terry is instrumental in developing and delivering our comprehensive bariatric program. She draws on more than 20 years of surgical and physician practice management experience to ensure that--from both clinical and customer service perspectives--our bariatric patients receive exceptional care. In keeping with her overriding commitment to quality, Terry continually develops best practices for our patients and seeks new ways to further collaboration, communication, and patient satisfaction.

Ashley Willson RD, CDN, CDCES
Ashley Graduated from Russell Sage College in Troy NY with a BS in Nutritional Sciences in 2008. In 2011 she received a Certification of Completion, Dietetic Internship, from the University of Delaware. She is also a Certified Diabetes Education Specialist.
She has provided individualized nutrition therapy and interventions to patients specific to patients’ medical conditions and disease states. She works with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized nutrition care plans for our patients.
She completed the Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management Program. She is a member of the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists and a Trained Lifestyle Coach for CDC Diabetes Prevention Program.
Stephanie Samascott MS, RD,CDN
Stephanie graduated from Montclair State University with a bachelor's of science in Nutrition and Food Science in 2015. She then went on to attend the Sage Graduate Schools, completing a dietetic internship in 2017 and obtaining a master's degree in Applied Nutrition in 2018. Throughout her time as a dietitian, Stephanie has worked in various settings including inpatient, long term care and community nutrition. Stephanie works with patients before and after surgery to develop individualized nutrition plans that help patients reach their goals.
